The membership of Anambra State Association Europe is restricted to a duly registered and accredited Anambra State organisations within and around European territories who met the conditions set in Article 3§3.01, Article 4§4.01/1…6.
The classes of membership are described below:
Full membership (Regular Membership)
1) Membership shall be restricted to a properly constituted Anambra State Organisation as referred in Section 4.01 below as well as, the Association or Union in any country outside Nigeria who applies for membership in compliance with the provisions of this regulation and byelaw.
2) ASA-Europe Governing Council accredits, assesses and considers any application for membership and reaches a decision considered appropriate as called for by the aforementioned Article 4 § 4.01/1….6.
3) All existing or intending member organizations are subject to re-accreditation upon the ratification of the constitution.
4) A member organisation may be suspended on conditions to be determined Governing Council.
5) There shall be a well-defined, minimum standard for accreditation already mentioned above.
6) There shall be only one accredited umbrella member organization per Country.
7) Voting is one country (member –org), one vote.
Associate Membership
1) Applicant National Association of Anambra State in a country failing accreditation may be admitted as Associate Members or Provisional Members pending re-application.
2) The intending member country must apply to the Governing Council for Accreditation.
3) Shall have no voting right.
4) Shall not have official representation in any organ of ASAEurope.
5) May contribute or be allowed to become members to ASA-Europe Institute.
Inactive/Nominal/Non-Financial member
A member country shall be considered to be a nominal/inactive/non -financial member of the association if the member country:
1) has not paid the registration fees, levy or other dues within 6 months after the expiry date.
2) has failed to fulfil the obligations or requirements as stipulated in the constitution and show little or no concern in achieving the association goals and objectives, or without any justifiable reasons, refuses to engage in projects or activities that are geared towards the improvement and wellbeing of the association.
3) Any member country that absent herself more than 6 times out of the 12 of our general meeting without genuine reasons shall be considered as a nominal/inactive member.
4) The nominal member country or non-financial member country, shall have a limited right in matters concerning the association, therefore;
5) shall not have right to vote during general meetings.
6) shall not be elected to hold any office.
7) shall not be granted full membership benefits.
8) shall cease to be a member after one years of absence or failed dues However, if the bylaws provide for a loss of membership ipso facto for failure to pay dues, notice to the member is not necessary unless specially stated.
9) In this case, the member countries will reapply as a new member country and will be considered as one in relations to all rules guiding new member countries.
Non-Member country and their limitation
1) Non-member countries are those Europe-based Anambra organisations that did not register with the ASA-Europe.
2) Non-member countries will not be recommended, appointed, or required to carry out any activities whatsoever on behalf of the association, Unless such member country voluntarily indicate by writing or by direct contact with the governing council and shall be recorded in the minutes of the meeting, and such member country must be supervised by some appointed members to carry out the activities as the case may be to the best interest of the association.
Accreditation Standards
1) Intending member country applicant classified above in Article 3, §3.01, must duly fill in the required membership application form to express her willingness in joining the association of Anambra State Europe.
2) To be accredited by Anambra State Association Europe (ASA-Europe), the intending member state must be a duly registered association with a minimum of 5 verifiable individual members of Ndi Anambra in the country of residence.
3) The quorum referred in Article 4 §4.01/1 should be the fairly representative of entire Ndi Anambra indigenes residing in that Country;
4) They shall be a fairly representation of chapters or an amalgamation of Anambra State town unions in Country of Residence.
5) Application to be made to the accreditation Institute of the ASA-Europe Governing Council;
6) Shall be registered or incorporated in the Country of Residence as a nonprofit organization.
7) Shall pay her (one off) registration fee of two hundred and fifty euro (250€) as well as annual membership dues in force as agreed from time to time by the ASA-Europe Governing Council. (Approved 27.01.2018/1)
8) A member country association who participate(s) in all the association activities but have not fulfilled all registration requirements as stipulated in Article 4§4.01/1-8 shall not be considered as full member of the association and thus, shall not be granted or accorded full membership status or any entitlement contained therein.
9) A duly registered member country who has paid her annual dues, shall be given the ASA Europe (Constitution) and access to our association resources which includes the website member pages and other privileged member resources.
Registration Fee & Dues
1) The Membership Registration fee of the association is two hundred and fifty euro (250€) paid only once.
2) Annual Dues of ASA -Europe is 20euro per month.
